Building Filmmakers.

One Set at a Time.

BLACK CURTAIN COLLECTIVE
On-Set Mentorship Program
Building Oklahoma’s Next Generation of Filmmakers

The Black Curtain Collective On-Set Mentorship Program is a hands-on training initiative designed to grow the Oklahoma film industry from the inside out. Mentees are embedded directly into active vertical series productions, working alongside experienced department professionals in real conditions, on real sets, with real stakes.

This isn’t a workshop or a classroom. It’s a working film set — and the screen is the proof.

MISSION

To create meaningful pathways into the professional film industry for Oklahoma-based emerging talent by pairing them with working crew members across all departments during active Black Curtain Collective productions..

❋ Duration

Full production cycle of one vertical series (pre-production through wrap)

❋ Collaborative Energy

Up to 10 mentees per production cycle

❋ Expert Facilitation

Led by experienced guides who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.

❋ A Supportive Space

Our events prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.

PROGRAM VALUES
Inclusion first. We actively encourage applications from people who are underrepresented in the film industry — including women, BIPOC applicants, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and those without formal film education.
Learning over perfection. Mentees are here to grow. Mistakes are part of the process. We build crews that teach, not crews that gatekeep.
Oklahoma stays in Oklahoma. Our goal is to strengthen the local industry ecosystem so that Oklahoma talent doesn’t have to leave the state to build a career.
